A man was shot in the leg by security at Alicia's Place at 2:44 a.m. Saturday.
The man was firing shots from his vehicle toward a group of people in a house across the street from the nightclub, said Sgt. Jason Mikeska, with the Victoria Police Department.
No one in the house, in the 800 block of Delmar Drive, was injured.
The man drove himself to the hospital after being struck by the club's security, Mikeska said.
The case is under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
Alicia's Place owner, Raul Velasquez, said he was not at the club Saturday morning and was unaware of the incident.

There is such a thing as 2:44am Saturday....most people consider it to be Friday night since it occurs before they wake up Saturday morning.....geez people, get a clock & study it.
December 6, 2010 at 9:11 p.m.The problem txgirl is not that the paper got the time wrong. They got it right. The problem is the readers that can't comprehend what they are reading and attacking the advocate's story and ability to get it right.
December 6, 2010 at 7:03 p.m.It's the principal of the thing Txgirl, It's the principal of the thing. Saturday started at 00:01am and ended at 11:59:59pm. Beside's, if, if, an officer wrote down an incorrect date and time, some slick two bit defense lawyer would hone in on that and get the charge thrown out and if your were the victim you be plenty upset.
December 6, 2010 at 4:26 p.m.Since folks want to close down establishments, close down the Maximus too. There have been fights, stabbings, and death at that club also. And how about adding more lights to Ben Wilson? It sure is dark and dreary at night. Bring out what is done in the dark to light.
Really people if all you're worried about is the paper getting the time wrong that ridiculous, what you should be concerned about is the fact that it even happened in the first place. At least they reported it. When the newspaper actually reports real concerning news all some of you do is look over what really matters...what has the world came to. Get real.
December 6, 2010 at 2:31 p.m.And as for the suspect or victim which ever you claim to be. Well god Bless You. Maybe you will learn its not worth it after all. Hope you recover but learn as good lesson. But the officer was only doing his duty.
December 5, 2010 at 11:17 a.m.Well thumbs up for the security officer, for fast reactions. To me and my point of view. Alicia's needs to be shut down untill they can prove away of changing the way the club operates. From long ago this club has had a bad history of violence and crime. No matter if the shooting did happen at the house across the street, cause ill bet it had soemthing to do with this nasty club. Why yes it needs to be shut down. If its for awhile or for good something needs to be looked at by the city and county points of veiw. Only way to get to get it started at city hall or the precinct in which it falls under. Come on Victoria for yall thats seen Victoria in the good days and now look whats happening now, step forward let it be known I do all the time at something sick as this place. Yes they can hire a few off duty officers but they cant be every where at once where a bullet flys we all know that even tho it will cut it back some. And yes if they close the club they for split like fleas to another. But thats when the city and county come togther doing bar checks and do a crack down on the club owners, simple as that. period. WAKE UP VICTORIA, lets pull togther unless your one of the few who causes all this all the time. Look at other clubs, pubs and bars you dont hear much out of those as much as you do out of those like Alicia,s. Yes they needs shut down untill futher notice in my eyes.
December 5, 2010 at 11:09 a.m.Oxy- I think its a waste of time to try to teach time to a certain population.
December 5, 2010 at 10:38 a.m.Ok does visd not teach time anymore. The day starts at 12 am and goes through to 11:59 pm and then starts over. So if an incident such as this happens at 2:44 am Saturday and is not reported on until 11:12 pm Saturday that is correct. No one is predicting the future or the news.
December 5, 2010 at 10:29 a.m.i was planning on doing some shopping in victoria today and i found this awesome article. the awesome about it is that the advocate reports incidents before they happen which is a plus----well the mall area be safe while i shop peacefully between 3 and 6pm?, please let me know .
December 5, 2010 at 10:16 a.m.Let the club stay open and have an off-duty cop in the club, in uniform. That will calm down the violence. The second reason, I say keep the bad guys in one place. If you close the club they will scatter like fleas to many other clubs until they take over one other club like they have this one. They will, in the end, shut down every club they hang out at due to violence just like the old place called "West Key Club". Drugs and violence closed that club. No good people wanted to go there in fear for their lives. Fights, beatings, shootings and stabbings just to name a few reasons it closed. I predict the same thing will happen to Alicia's club in the future.
December 5, 2010 at 7:08 a.m.Jeez. How many people out there don't know how to tell time? The advocate report is correct.
December 5, 2010 at 6:51 a.m.Um..... I think it says 2:44 am, sat, The report was filed @ 11:12 pm sat. Dude..... Come on man!!!! Read it!!!!
December 5, 2010 at 4:44 a.m.@Dude....FACE!!!!
December 5, 2010 at 2:39 a.m.Dude - Just to clarify any possible confusion for our readers, the Advocate report reads 2:44 a.m., Saturday, which is correct. It happened in the early morning hours of Saturday morning. This story was filed Saturday at 11 p.m. Thanks for having us double check the time and date and thank you for reading.
December 5, 2010 at 1:33 a.m.Alicia's is an awful place. It needs to be closed. The only problem with that is, it's like when you dip a dog...the fleas just move from one place to another. They go to a place where the poison isn't.
December 5, 2010 at 1:26 a.m.Good job Sgt. Mikeska. If you've ever met him, he could be the coolest guy in the whole city!!! He's squared away, hard working and bald! I like him, and I think he's a true asset to this community! Rock on, Mikeska!!!

December 5, 2010 at 12:38 a.m.This is amazing that the Advocate can report incidents before they happen. The shooting happened t 2:44 am and the repport was filed at 11:12 pm the day before. This is amazing. All robberies and incidents can now be averted by the Victoria Advoacate Soothsayers.
