  • If he does not believe in what is now open knowledge, I found out about Soros long before Beck started talking about him, he is overeducated. I believe he is just another progressive one worlder trying to do a coverup for Soros from his loft way above us.

This guy is an overeducated tenure that walks around in a drug induced smoke haze constantly listening to John Lennon dreaming of a nuke free world.
    Don't bogart that job dude.

  • Oh!

You had me..right up until I realized this wasn't a balanced article. I even made it as far as "They are radicals." After that I stopped reading, knowing it would become opinionated and based on little actual fact. Just an assumption based on limited experience.

Maybe I should have kept going. Maybe I should have read further. But I am really tired of the banter between and about political labels, most of which are businessmen and lawyers which have very little experience in military matters and science, that we elect and allow to govern "we the people". Kind of brings the phrase "shooting yourself in the foot" to mind.

Anyway, I appreciate your article and the comments posted and certainly enjoy the majority of the individuals who post here. Plus, I have to say I miss Victoria a little.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Mike.

Andrew Brietbart is sneaky grass snake bigot and Walter Williams is a house slave. There I said it.

  • 1. Most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses....

Uh...., this study from the WSJ said the stimulus did nothing. When the stimulus was passed it was suppose to keep unemployment under 8%, it's now 9.8%. So yeah I can see how that would be confusing and why many think it was a complete waste.

"The bottom-line is the federal government borrowed funds from the public, transferred these funds to state and local governments, who then used the funds mainly to reduce borrowing from the public. The net impact on aggregate economic activity is zero, regardless of the magnitude of the government purchases multiplier. "

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001...

    2. Most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit.

Why would people think that? Well let's see, Medicare and Medicaid costs have ballooned out of control, along with college tuitions, housing, health insurance, gasoline and soon electricity and food. Can anyone guess the connection between all of these? Then there is the situation in Europe where their healthcare costs have become unsustainable - I think many of us have this gut feel that it's not going to be roses and lollipops, yeah we're skeptical and for good reason.

    6. The auto bailout only occurred under Obama.

Most of the auto bailout occurred after Bush. Obama bailed out primarily the union while stiffing the bond holders. GM also got another windfall in that they won't pay any income taxes for years. In addition they continue to get all kinds of subsidies for their "green cars."

Oh and BTW, this is another link that claims Soros is connected with that fine University of Maryland study that was really done by WorldPublicOpinion.org. This organization is funded by, yeah that's right, George Soros.

  • I agree with vet43! The birch society is the new KKK. Go to Cuero,
wells fargo lets them have their meetings at their building while declining other groups and non profits to hold meetings there. Heck,
Cuero even had a candidate that ran for a county position and went to
the polling places wanting to see who voted for him. What is really scary ( I am not joking) he claimed he had a right to access the polls under "The Freedom of Information Act"! The guy was that uninformed. Thank God the people of Dewitt were not as he lost by a landslide.

  • If you want to understand what the Koch family (Invista) believes in do some reading on the John Birch Society. "If your Mommy is a Commie you gotta turn her in"!

  • First I want to thank the Victoria Advocate for showing some balance. This was a great column that showed well researched facts. As our nation grows farther apart on political poles we become mired in more mud slinging. I really have tried to listen to Mr. Beck to understand his basic thoughts and agenda. After several attempts I gave up. His logic is so twisted that it is impossible to sort fact from fiction. I have never read a column that I could agree with 100% but there are always a gem here and there that once I validate with other sources then I store the item away to use in the next debate on the state of our nation. This is why the idea of a one party system in the US is a horrible idea.

One last thing. On December 15th Walter Williams wrote a column that seems to believe every and any one that supports any proposal by the Democratic party is the enemy of our nation. He paints the DNC as pure evil the ends his column with a quote from Adolf Hitler to support his point. I find that very telling.

  • Glen Beck's brain was fried when he was out snorting wiskey and drinking cocaine. Only the rambmlings of the oxycontin filled Rush
    spews more garbage and hate.

  • Lol...A site that Andrew Brietbart launched is your source...Why not use Fox News while you are at it.

Just as a informal reference point; I've seen where several local posters believe the same thing that the University of Maryland study revealed such as:
    1. Most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses.
    2. Most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit.
    3. The economy is getting worse.
    4. The stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts.
    5. Their own income tax have gone up.
    6. The auto bailout only occurred under Obama.
    7. When TARP came up for a vote most republicans opposed it.
    8. It is not clear if Obama was born in the United States.

From the editorial page of the LA Times

"Instructing reporters to treat such facts as controversial is like telling them to question the laws of gravity when discussing plane crashes. The only reason for doing it is to further a partisan agenda, in this case an attempt to cast doubt on climate science in order to fend off government efforts to limit greenhouse gases."
"Fox should either come clean about this and crack down on such partisanship in its news ranks, or it should stop pretending to be an objective news source," they concluded

    http://tinyurl.com/28lfz34

They were referring to "At the height of the health care reform debate last fall, Bill Sammon, Fox News' controversial Washington managing editor, sent a memo directing his network's journalists not to use the phrase "public option."
Instead, Sammon wrote, Fox's reporters should use "government option" and similar phrases -- wording that a top Republican pollster had recommended in order to turn public opinion against the Democrats' reform efforts.....

Fox has NOT denied the memos or statements in the poll.

  • Just goes to show how political truth is nothing more than personal perception.

  • While I may not agree with everything, Johnathan Schell, wrote, I think it's hilarious that someone would try to discredit the author with a partisan website of their own..."Glenn Beck calls Discover a "fantastic" resource:.... George Soros is the bogeyman to the extreme right and most of mainstream Americans don't have the faintest idea of who he is.... The left could counter with the Koch Bros bogeyman and mainstream America wouldn't know who they were.

Don't make me bring up the latest University of Maryland study....:-)

  • Yes, this was great journalism by a "fellow" of "The Nation Institute" a radical left wing organization funded by George Soros - duh!

  • Great stuff! But in all reality most people join the right because they are just haters? And want to have a party that will allow them to express that hate! And the sad thing is in most cases the party they supported is responsible for the reasons they are mad?
Like given woman and black people rights, the republican party is mad that they freed these groups only to see that they were going to be smart independent liberals who want equality.
I mean how can any white man be mad in America? They killed the American Indians almost to extinction? Enslaved woman, blacks ,browns and reds! Then have it all away in free elections?
Then complain that they don't like the results? Lol
They should take that anger out on their great grandparents!
