Victoria family celebrates Super Bowl win in New Orleans

Molly Ruschhaupt, Trey Ruschhaupt, Gary Middleton and BJ Middleton attended the celebration down Burbon Street in New Orleans. The group of 14 did not intentionally plan to attend during Super Bowl weekend, but said it added to their experience.

A bit hoarse after cheering on the Saints in New Orleans, Dawn McFadin returned to Victoria on Monday.

McFadin and her family planned the trip months ago to New Orleans for her sister's wedding anniversary, but did not realize it would be on the same weekend as the Super Bowl.

"It was just the icing on the cake," said McFadin, who felt it was the perfect kick-off to Mardi Gras.

McFadin and her family watched the game at restaurant on Bourbon Street, and as game time grew closer, so did the crowds.

"We had never seen it that crazy. It was that exciting," said McFadin, who found the Saints win memorable as strangers high-fived each other and confetti filled the streets.

"It was unreal. The town just went crazy afterwards," McFadin said.
