Editor the Advocate:

I imagine some of you find yourself in the same dilemma as I with respect to local and state primaries on Tuesday, March 2. I am a community-minded conservative who typically would vote in the Republican primary. However, when and if necessary, I will break tradition to vote for what I feel is the far greater cause and concern.

Presently, I think there is no issue of greater importance to Victorians than to select the best candidates to be our county judge and district attorney. That being the case, my family and I will vote in the Democratic primary for Don Pozzi for county judge and Deborah Branch for district attorney. While I respect the efforts and dedication of all public servants, our community is at a crossroads. Now, more than ever, vision, collaboration and qualifications are critical as our community searches for its identity.

Voting for Don Pozzi and Deborah Branch are a "must do" for my family and a "must have" for our community. Your vote in the March 2 Democratic primary will not affect your right to vote for candidates of either party in the November 2010 General Election.

Robby Burdge, Victoria
