Party nominations are up for grabs come Tuesday, Primary Election Day.
The day will reveal some winners from hotly contested battles for Texas governor, spots in the U.S. Congress and in local politics. If a candidate does not get at least 50 percent of the vote, the top two candidates will be back on the ballot in a runoff election.
Gov. Rick Perry faces opposition - in his bid to regain the Republican party's nomination - from Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Tea Party-backed Debra Medina.
Six candidates, including Houston Mayor Bill White, businessman Farouk Shami, as well as Bill Dear, Star Locke, Felix Alvarado, Alma Aguado and Clement Glenn vie for the Democratic party's nomination for governor.
U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Surfside, faces off against Gerald Wall, Tim Graney and John Gay in his bid for another term as Congressman from Texas District 14, which includes Victoria County.
Wall is a maintenance supervisor and founder of Freeport's Jesus Is Lord Festival; Graney owns a consulting business in Katy; Gay is a school district administrator from Dickinson.
Early voting ended on Friday. A few early voting highlights from Victoria County:
