Pat Korenek, has joined Texas Gulf Medical Associates OB/GYN physicians Dr. Daisy Ayim and Dr. Maricela Cantu as a women's health nurse practitioner and will see patients at the El Campo Women's Clinic. Korenek, who most recently served as the director of nursing services at El Campo Memorial Hospital, has served as clinic director/nurse practitioner at the University of Texas Medical Branch Angleton clinic, maternal child health division services department.
Jimmy Zaplac, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker The Ron Brown Company, was named Realtor of the Year by his fellow peers of the Victoria Board of Realtors.
Tracy Graves, Alice Garner, Justin Halpin and Veronica McCants of RE/MAX Land and Homes recently attended a program by RE/MAX International co-founder, Dave Liniger. The presentation was focused on the economy and the future of America's housing market and the importance of Realtors becoming more knowledgeable of the short sale process, by which most homeowners avoid foreclosure and the resulting damage to their credit.
Deborah George recently was hired as a financial aid specialist at the University of Houston-Victoria. Her duties include assisting students in applying for and acquiring financial aid.
Jessica Rogers, a registered nurse, was recently recognized as the DeTar Healthcare System Employee of the Month for January. Rogers has worked for DeTar since 2000 and serves as the assistant nurse manager in the Intensive Care Unit at DeTar Hospital Navarro. Rogers received a plaque, cash award, 30 meals in the hospital cafeteria and a coveted parking space in the front parking lot of DeTar Hospital Navarro.
Dr. Joe West has joined Texas Gulf Medical Associates and will begin seeing patients in his new office at 10119 U.S. Highway 59 Suite 300, in Wharton on Monday. West's office is located in the newly renovated, free-standing medical office building on the left side of Gulf Coast Medical Center. West received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston; completed his general surgery internship at Mt. Zion Medical Center in San Francisco; his urology residency at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston; and his Fellowship in Erectile Dysfunction at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. West is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
