The Victoria crowd will get to watch several of their own on Monday at Riverside Stadium, when the TCL brings its all-star game to Riverside Stadium.

Memorial graduates Blake Payne and Roman Madrid both earned spots on the team, as well as Mark Hudson, who will be starting in centerfield for the south team.

Overall, Generals dominate the TCL's south team for the league's upcoming All-Star Game, with eight players earning spots more than any other team's contingent.

Joining Hudson as starters are Brendan McGaheran, who is near the top in the league in several offensive categories, and Michael Pair, a catcher and right fielder from Central Arkansas.

Victoria GM Blake Koch said the number of players is a tribute to what they have done this season.

"We obviously thought that we had one of the stronger rosters going into the season," he said. "It seems to have played out that way. We have a lot of good individual talent on this team.

"We're lucky to have that kind of representation."

Rounding out the Victoria contingent are middle infielder Conner Mach, relief pitcher Ryan Turner and third baseman Brian Nephew.

Festivities will include drink specials and a home run derby, Koch said, beginning around 5:30 p.m. Players are expected to be arriving in Victoria throughout the day of the game.

"We're not going to have guys come in on July the Fourth," he said.
