For one thing, this 'trial' period is not nearly long enough to see any legitimate results. It is routinely used in other cities and has been very successful, the combination of keeping the pound open later during the weekdays and also opened on Saturdays, for at least half a day. Close on Mondays to keep the costs the same. This is what was originally asked for at the 1st County Commissioners meeting by Welton and the PAWS representatives. Also, it is unfair that people who have been taking advantage of the Saturdays, and pick out an animal, then come back during the following week to pick it up, are NOT counted as a Saturday adoption, but a weekday adoption. I do hope this is not a conscious effort to hide the Saturday adoptiions.
