It may be hard to get goosebumps during the hot Texas summer, but Houston's Alley Theatre is doing their best to try and give you the chills.

Starting this weekend and running through August 8, the theater will present Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" as part of their ExxonMobil Summer Chills series. Written by one of the queens of suspense, the play follows a group of strangers trapped in a boarding house during a snow storm, according to a news release.

And one of them just happens to be a murderer.

Could it be the newlyweds? The retired Army major? The spinster with a questionable past? Or the strange man who claims his car overturned in a snow drift?

Originally broadcast as "Three Blind Mice" in 1947 as a radio play, the name was changed and the play brought to the stage in 1952 in London to great success, according to the news release. It is one of the longest running plays in history.

For the past 16 years, the Summer Chills series has been bringing classic mysteries alive on stage for the Houston and surrounding communities.

Tickets for "The Mousetrap" range in price from $21-$55 and are available for purchase at, at the Alley Theatre Box Office, 615 Texas Avenue, or by calling 713-220-5700.
