Edna man dies in tractor truck crash
EDNA - An Edna man died after a collision involving four tractor truck trailers at 8:05 p.m. Thursday.
Kenneth Rowlett, 55, was taking the exit ramp for State Highway 111 from southbound U.S. Highway 59 when he crashed the vacuum truck he was driving, said Edna Police Chief Clinton Wooldridge.
Wooldridge said the details and cause of the crash are still under investigation, but that he believes all four trucks were on the exit ramp at the time of the collision.
Rowlett's truck was last in the line of trucks, said Wooldridge.
Rowlett was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Dwayne Taylor.
The drivers of the other trucks were identified as Boris Pavlyuk, 38, of Washington state; David Gaddis, 49, of Alabama; and Larry Rust, 65, of Alabama.
All involved were wearing seatbelts, and no other injuries were reported.
