  • FACTS are just facts, they have no emotions.
Fact: all organizations from Stoman and Victoria High School were disbanned and their names retired EXCEPT for VICTORIADORES.

Fact: VICTORIADORES has still been used for the last ten years and still is associated with the soon to be opened Victoria West High School.

Fact: Stroman Middle School will replace Crain Middle School.

Fact: East High School has chosen a name (Sabers) and set up a website with their information concerning their dance team.

Fact: Whenever I post any facts, there is a poster who recommends me to buy some anti-negativity pills from Wal-Mart.

Now, here's my Opinion: The Associate Principal from Stroman Campus has more than proven her FANTASTIC leadership skills and would have been an OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL for West High School. She is very professional, while still being a supportive, caring, kind woman. Her leadership skills, along with her "people skills" are fantastic. I dare say, Tstorm, you of all people should know that this is true.

  • Stroman is still Stroman and will be Stroman Middle School. We won't have Victoria High School, but don't be too sad, since when you type in West High School Dance Team and you will find, "VICTORIADORES". See, they didn't have to go away ten years ago, like everyone else. Raider Bells are no more, but VICTORIADORES live on, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

  • Memorial Stadium has been Memorial Stadium since it was built and served Stroman and VHS with the name Memorial Stadium.

After consolidation the school board decided to name the joined schools Memorial.

There is no need to change the stadiums name, it is the only part of VISD High Schools that hasn't changed it's name since it was built.

  • Cobraden and Bopp,

    Can you suggest an alternative?

  • ok, just awareness here. Last year we bust our tails to sell just coke drinks. Now I see that a contract was awarded to Pepsi.

So why are we held to 1 degree of a unknown contract and others will now choose between coke or pepsi. Does anybody know? What is it gonna be this year?

  • Cobraden,

You can't have a tax decrease! Remember, we voted to spend $145 million because our old HS buildings were too old and too costly to maintain. However, we decided to keep those old costly buildings anyhow and we will need money for the expensive repair bills. Taxes seldom, if ever, go down.

On the bright side these new facilities will end school violence, keep all children in school, and raise the test scores by an awesum amount. Sounds Obamaesk, doesn't it?
