Victoria West High School will have a new band director after the resignation of the previous director.

Blane Hinton, the former West band director, resigned earlier this month to take another position in the Dallas area, Jay Lester, director of fine arts for the district, said Wednesday.

Adam Ardner, a former assistant band director, accepted the job earlier this week.

"We're just excited that Adam is going to be the head band director, and we look forward to the new traditions and goals that he's going to establish," Lester said.

Ardner was the assistant band director at Memorial High School primarily in charge of the jazz program. He has been with the school district for six years.

  • Awesome! Looking forward to halftime season - I mean, football season - more than ever!

Hey, is he going to keep playing his occasional gigs downtown?
