The Advocate staff wrote: "Users may not:

I have to wonder, though, why the rules aren't enforced uniformly. Within the last couple of weeks, a frequent contributor to this forum wrote that another who frequently protests against abortion was "insane." The comment was allowed by the Advocate to stand. I even mentioned in a following post that there are lible and slander laws and the defense is truth; that if he couldn't provide proof the person he called insane was in fact insane, he might have a problem if the person decided to persue action, I have seen much less provocative statements deleted from this forum but that one was allowed to remain. Now, mind you, I am NOT advocating that any post be deleted or any contributor be banned -- indeed, I think all posts should remain as written. I'm just mentioning that your enforcement practices are somewhat less than uniform.

"Capt. Steven Ellis of the Cuero Police Department said he could not give any information until Police Chief Chris Hernandez, who Ellis said was out of town, OKs the release."
Wake up Cuero residents! Chief and his sidekick have been in Vegas "supervising" while officers attend DARE conference. What are they "supervising" - wonder who's picking up the tab? I hope they were smart and booked the next flight to Cuero!

No doubt this is still retribution from the prior shooting. Where the shooter went to jail and his "boys" are still pissed. May the gun accidentally turn on them one day instead of taking out decent people.

Those using guns such as this is the reason for government wanting to take our guns and the "right to own a gun"...the criminals will have guns, but the honest law abiding citizen will not....my theory is that if you cannot use a gun for the reason it was made, then you need to give up your gun....you cause nothing but heartaches for everyone.....obviously if you need a gun for violence then you have not learned responsibility of owning a gun.....you are still a childish fool....YOU GIVE UP YOUR GUN.....this is so senseless and costly for all tax paying citizens....shooting because of crime, something to do, or whatever it is that causes you to do what you do with a gun....ALL THE WRONG REASONS OBVIOUSLY........you do not have the real reason for owning a gun. No wonder government wants to take guns away. YOU ARE COSTING US OUR FREEDOMS......not to mention your ignorance for having a gun.

So again PPL learn to post things that you know about not rumors and here say!
This is a horrific act of crime and the Victims do not deserve this. They have family's not to mention children. Attempted murder is no joke. -

For your information myvu, they don't live with their parents and they have their own homes.

After reading this story again, I feel badly for the parents. Their children are adults and should move away from their parents home into their own home as most people do when the become adults.

Very nice way of putting it without getting deleted myvu. Well, for now anyway. I am in total agreement.

I appreciate the Victoria Advocate for creating and maintaining this forum. I really do.
However, I'm looking at all the deleted comments here and I can't help but think the Advocate is waaaay to eager to delete posts. Are you afraid you'll hurt somebody's feelings? Is that the problem?
Take a few minutes and read the posts following stories in the Houston Chronicle on-line edition. Pretty much anything goes there and it is a vastly more interesting forum. They allow people to express their opinions and leave them up for others to comment either for or against. It DOES sometimes get lively. Remember, the hottest fire makes the strongest steel. I don't hold out much hope, though.

And people ask why I carry a gun (legally) everywhere I go. Junk like this, at one time, was confined to "big cities". Sadly, not any more. We should pray for ALL involved they get the help they need. I'm not saying what kind of help, just help.

I'm usually not one to criticize the VicAd, out of respect, since they are giving the community a great outlet for local online info and blogs, but I don't think the picture of the blood stained grass is appropriate at all...shame on you VicAd.
