The Czech Heritage Society of Texas will hold its summer state meeting and Genealogy Conference on Saturday.

The free conference, hosted by the Victoria County Chapter and the Executive Committee of the CHS, will be at the Holy Family Catholic Church Activity Center, 704 Mallette Drive.

Registration for the event will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Sessions include Joe Janecka, of Ennis, speaking on, Czech immigration, at 9:15 a.m.; Brenda Fessler of Hallettsville, speaking on, "Can You Prove It? How to Document and Cite Your Sources," at 10:30 a.m.; and Bette Stockbauer Harris of Red Rock who will present letters and art by Jan and Ferdinand Pribyl, at 11:30 a.m.; and Ben Bohuslav of LaGrange, will present a program about using technology to preserve family history at 3:15 p.m.

A roast beef lunch will be served from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the meal are $9 each; advance tickets are $8 each. Lunch ticket reservations may be made by calling Donald Dusek 361-578-6730 or Marjorie Matula, 361-575-0810 before Tuesday.

The CHS state meeting will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. State President Phyllis Teykl of Austin will lead the meeting.

Participants can also visit Czech heritage booths and the genealogy traveling library.
