Hey, music fans,

The Eagles - yes, all four of them - will be landing soon in Houston.

Our old pals Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Tim Schmit are going on tour this summer.

It's been two years since their last tour and three years since their last album came out, but I'm excited to hear they're at least still touring and sound just as good as they did in the 1970s.

I know I'm not alone in saying how HUGE of an Eagles fan I am.

We're in for a great show here, folks.

Up until Michael Jackson's death, the Eagles had the highest-selling album in the country.

Now, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, Jackson's "Thriller" album and the Eagles' "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" are now tied at 29 million each.

But who could forget the songs that made them legends, like "Hotel California," "Take It Easy," "Life In The Fast Lane," "One Of These Nights," "Lyin' Eyes," and many others.

The band broke up in the 1980s, and reunited in 1994 for their reunion album, "Hell Freezes Over."

This is going to be a great concert, one you die-hard Eagles fans won't want to miss if you want to hear the hits they've written during the span of their 35-year career.

Eagles, Toyota Center, Houston, July 27. Tickets on sale Monday at Livenation.com

John Mayer, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands, Sept. 5. Tickets on sale Saturday at Ticketmaster.com, $36-$75.

The Scorpions "Get Your Sting and Blackout" World Tour, AT&T Center, San Antonio, July 23. Tickets on sale Saturday at Ticketmaster.com, $36.75-$57.75.

Shakira, American Bank Center Arena, Corpus Christi, Oct. 5. Tickets on sale Friday at Ticketmaster.com, $16- $162.01

  • Bring back Don Felder. The artist of Hotel California fame. That mexican reggae song.

  • You guys are right. Keith Urban and the Dixie Chicks are not performing with the Eagles in Houston, but are in other select cities.

I also corrected Glenn Frey's name.

  • Will someone bring some big name talent to Victoria. There are bands touring that you know well that are really cheap now that they are not on the top any longer. Support your local music and hug a musician today!

  • Current Eagles:

Glenn Frey – vocals, guitars, keyboards, harmonica (1971–1980, 1994–present)
Don Henley – vocals, drums, percussion, guitar (1971–1980, 1994–present)
Joe Walsh – guitars, vocals, keyboards (1975–1980, 1994–present)
Timothy B. Schmit – bass, vocals, acoustic guitar (1977–1980, 1994–present)

    Former Eagles:

Bernie Leadon – guitars, vocals, banjo, mandolin (1971–1975)
Randy Meisner – bass, vocals, guitar, guitarrón (1971–1977)
Don Felder – guitars, mandolin, vocals, keyboards (1974–1980, 1994–2001)

  • So far on this tour the Eagles have only had support acts at the stadium dates, not the arenas. The Toyota Center website does not list any other acts with the Eagles. I doubt there will be any support acts at the Houston show, but I will definitely be looking for confirmation before I buy tickets.

  • Dixie Chicks were on The View a few weeks ago and announced they are touring with the Eagles.

    June 2, 2010 at 9:15 p.m.
  • I'd double check the line-up too. I don't remember a "Glenn Grey" in the original band. I could be wrong, but Timothy B Schmidt was a later addition. Plus, there's one guy missing, Don Felder.

  • I don't believe Keith Urban or the Dixie Chicks will be appearing with the Eagles at the Toyota Center. So far on this tour, all of their arena dates have been solo. Fans will want to double check this before they buy tickets.
