Three-car wreck sends one to hospital

Sarah Barton, 18, collided her Ford Escape  with two cars near the intersection of Navarro Street and Guy Grant Road. Barton was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro.

A three-car wreck sent one person to the hospital about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Sara Barton, 18, was pulling out of a private parking lot while on her cell phone when her car collided with a Chevrolet Malibu Classic driven by Charlene Davis, of Victoria, according to Traffic Safety Officer Zachary De La Rosa.

The two vehicles collided near the intersection of Navarro Street and Guy Grant Road.

Barton, of Victoria, was driving a Ford Escape. The collision with the westbound Malibu forced Barton into oncoming traffic. Barton's car then struck an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban driven by Susan Broussard.

It is unclear which direction Barton was headed.

Barton was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro.

Front airbags in the Malibu were deployed.

Passengers in the Malibu included Amy Davis, 8, and Seth Davis, 6.

Passengers in the Suburban were Gerald Gray, 14, and Dylan Gray, 9.

None of the passengers reported injuries.
