Troops should go to border
Editor, the Advocate:
Is it just me, or did anyone else notice that after our present administration sent 1,200 National Guard troops to our southern border to assist (?) with illegal border crossings, they now, after 40-plus days, send 17,000 National Guard troops to help clean up the Gulf Coast beaches of oil?
Holy cow! Did they get their borders mixed up? When I look at the affected beaches compared to the distance between Brownsville and California's Pacific Ocean, I would have preferred the 17,000 troops assist our Border Patrol. But what do I know? I'm just the 800 No. gorilla.
