This isn't the first time a hotel has been made into a dorm, they did the same thing to one in College Station.

Good luck to all the incoming freshmen Jaguars! -
I can only guess, but when the place was Holiday Inn, Howard Johnsons and Inn place, the pool was hardly ever open anyway.
Plus it is a outdoor/indoor pool, the wall of glass you see in the pic. is what divides the outdoor and indoor part. Kind of a unsecured entrance for anyone willing to get wet.

Why would you remove the pool? They should keep it!

OMG! Okay, my belly is still sore from laughing at the posts from Pilot and LocalGirl.....ahhhhaahaha.....
Um..okay. Better now.
I agree that picture is one of the better I have seen in the Advocate. And as far as the students, I hope all works out with this place being converted into dorms.
Never woulda thunk it in a million years, though....A Holiday Inn becomes dorms.....hmmmm.....

How novel, letting the users contribute to the discussion and decision making.
I look forward to those fences coming down and folks inhabiting the place.
Yes, good luck to all new students!

Am I missing something? Doesn't it read in the caption that the pool is being removed?

Pilot, I am sure that the groom will bring his own pecans and fruits from his "natural" orchard.

I remember being a new freshman at college and doing Welcome Week activities, dorm meetings, and all kinds of crazy traditions. I never thought I would actually see it here in Victoria. This is incredible. Good luck to all new students!
