Three injured in wreck on U.S. Highway 59

Three people were injured in a Monday afternoon wreck on U.S. Highway 59 near Oak Colony Drive.

Around 2:15 p.m., a black Mercury Cougar and a gold Buick Le Sabre were southbound on U.S. Highway 59.

The Mercury's driver rear-ended the Buick, causing the Cougar to go airborne, roll over and ultimately end up in a ditch, police said.

The Buick ended up in the median.

The vehicles' occupants were all transported to local hospitals. The severity of their injuries was unknown as of mid afternoon today.
