Rodgers- Roberts wedding

Rachel Lee Rodgers of Sachse, Texas and Christopher Jay Roberts of Sachse, Texas were united in marriage on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. in an outdoor ceremony at the Astin Mansion in Bryan, Texas. Reverend Charles Gandy officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Jennifer Rodgers and the granddaughter of Charles and Collie Bishop all of Bay City, Texas.

The groom is the son of Frank and Denise Roberts of Mesquite, Texas. He is the grandson of Grace Roberts of Mesquite, Texas and Don and Cleda Hamilton of Rockwall, Texas.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a mermaid style gown featuring a strapless sweetheart bodice and chapel length train adorned with lace and beads. To compliment her gown she wore an elbow length veil, pearl earrings, necklace and bracelet. She carried a clutch bouquet of roses.

Attending, as bridesmaids were sisters of the bride Sarah Kraatz of Kerrville, Rebecca Kelley of Lake Jackson, friends of the bride Ginny Coulter of Spring and Whitney Williams of Bay City. Each girl wore peridot green floor length gowns in their choice of style and carried a clutch bouquet of roses.

Serving as best man was friend of the groom Clayton McKinley of Dallas. Groomsmen, all friends of the groom were Eric Kunkelmann of Arlington, Justin McFadden of Dallas and Chase Lenz of College Station.

The groom’s niece, Arianna Roberts of Mesquite attended as flower girl and the bride’s nephews Cole Kraatz of Kerrville and Brody Kelley of Lake Jackson served as ring bearers.

Ushers were brother of the groom Matthew Roberts of Mesquite and friend of the groom Kyle Reddell of Huntington Beach, California.

The bride’s cousin Victoria Sharp of Bay City read the scriptures. The BCS String Quartet provided the music during the ceremony.

A dinner and dance were held following the ceremony at the Astin Mansion.

The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas and now resides in Sachse, Texas.

The bride and her mother hasted a luncheon in honor of the bridesmaids the previous day at Square One Bistro in historic downtown Bryan. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner the previous night at River Bridge Restaurant also in historic downtown Bryan where the bride and groom presented their attendees and special friend of the Roberts, Lisa Adair with thank you gifts.

The bride is 2004 honor with scholars graduate of Bay City High School and a 2007 graduate of A&M University with a degree in business finance. She is currently employed as a loan officer with Bank of America in Piano.

The groom is 2002 graduate of Mesquite High School and a 2007 graduate of A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is currently employed as a manager for Fastenal in Garland.
