A fire early Wednesday morning destroyed a Bloomington home and motor home about 7 a.m. The cause is under investigation.

A home and motor home burned early Wednesday morning about two miles from the intersection of Lander Road and state Highway 185 near Bloomington.

The fire had been burning for several hours before it was seen, said Victoria County Fire Marshall Ron Pray. It was discovered around 7 a.m.

The home was burned to the ground and only a skeleton of the motor home was left. About 8:30 a.m., the site was still smoldering.

The home was located on a little-travelled road and early-morning fog might have hidden the smoke, Pray said.

The tenant who was renting the home had left town Tuesday and was not home when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined, Pray said.

"There's still work to do before we call it," he said. "We need to look at every aspect of it and make sure nothing illegal went on. Nothing's been ruled out at this point."
