Halepaska's Bakery, 5805 John Stockbauer Drive, reopens Friday after a fire two weeks ago.
Owner Tom Halepaska said the small fire began in a stack of dry, clean towels about 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, and lasted about an hour.
"It started by itself and put itself out," Halepaska said. The fire is captured on in-store video.
The soot and smoke damage was discovered when workers arrived at 3 a.m. the next day. The Victoria Fire Department was called and came out to check for hot spots, Halepaska added. An investigator also responded.
The bakery has been cleaned, repainted and restocked, the owner said.
"We'll open at 6 a.m. We'll be there with bells on," Halepaska said.

Wayward, ditto on the Cornbread!! And the hamburgers are yankee burgers drenched in mayonaise and ketchup. You would laugh real hard if I told you about the barbeque. A guy opened up a barbeque joint up here, and the locals were really upset because he didn't supply silverware, he went out of business a couple of years later.
