• "Harmon added that according to the state fire marshal's office, because the house was totally destroyed, it would be difficult to determine the fire's point of origin.

No foul play is suspected, the sheriff said.

  • Well, the dog says there was no foul play, so what do you want them to do? They've already put the investigation in the hands of the most experienced and knowledgeable authority on the scene - it just happens to be a K9.

Now if they'd put the investigation and a barbeque lighter in the hands of my six year old, he could show you about a dozen ways of starting a house fire without an accelerant.

Of course it would be silly to put the investigation in the hands of a six year old - what would the dog think about that?

  • I have read the story twice and still cannot find where it says there was no investigation. As a matter of fact, it appears that not only are the local authorities investigating, but also the state fire marshal and the medical examiners office. It appears that everything that can be done is being done.

  • I must agree, I also find it perplexing, I wonder what it is that makes the Sheriff so sure. Perhaps it was a suicide?

  • okay the Hallettsville paper stated the body was found covered with rubble lying face down in the bath does that happen naturally? did he drown first?????????? not trying to be funny, but this sound a little weird and no investigation?? how do they know if someone didnt do this intentionally? if he were my family I'd be doing something
