PORT LAVACA - U.S. Congressional candidates Robert Pruett and Winston Cochran will speak Thursday at the Calhoun County Democrats Club meeting.
Pruett and Cochran are in a runoff after neither candidate earned more than 51 percent of the vote during the March 2 primary election.
Both vie for the democratic nomination for U.S. Representative in District 14. The nominee will run against incumbent Ron Paul, R-Surfside.
The primary runoff election will be April 13. Early voting starts April 5 and ends April 9.
In other Calhoun County Democratic Party business, the party announced delegates to represent the county at the Texas Democratic Party's state convention this June.
Evelyn Burleson, John Burleson, Bryan Golz, Roger Galvan, Madeline Garcia, Bernando Garcia, Barbara Johnstone, Joe Mireles and Gayle Mireles were elected delegates.
Five alternates were also announced.
