A Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Avalanche collide in a two-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on Navarro Street near Zac Lentz Parkway

Three people were injured in a Friday afternoon wreck on North Navarro Street near the Zac Lentz Parkway.

Around 12:08 p.m., Eva Kroneker, 40, drove northbound on Navarro Street in a gold Camry when she switched lanes to turn left into Starbucks.

A driver traveling south on Navarro Street in the inside lane stopped to let Kroneker cross in front of her.

Meanwhile, Victoria resident Otis Perry, 29, traveled south on Navarro Street in the outside lane.

He failed to see Kroneker as she attempted to cross the street, police said.

As a result, Perry's black Chevrolet Avalanche collided with Kroneker's car, which was a rental.

Perry and his female passenger were taken to Citizen's Memorial Hospital. The severity of their conditions was unknown on Friday.

Kroneker, who was in town on business, had her left hand bandaged for cuts on the scene.

It is unknown whether Perry and his passenger wore seatbelts, but Kroneker wore hers.

Officer Travis Hanson said Kroneker was not ticketed, but she was found at fault for the accident for failure to yield the right away when turning left.

"It's courteous and polite to let people through, but it actually causes more accidents," said Hanson.
