PORT LAVACA - Calhoun County Airport will receive $1.4 million in state funds this spring, according to a Texas Department of Transportation press release.
The Texas Transportation Commission approved the funds at its March meeting. The money will be used for pavement and drainage improvements at the airport.
The funds are among about $60 million planned by the department of transportation construction and maintenance projects at Texas community airports, according to the release.
A state aviation grant program will fund the improvements.
The airport, owned by the county, was named last year as the most improved airport in the state.
