  • I do agree people need to investigate their appraisal bill and make sure it’s correct. Please do ask questions. I asked a lot of questions on my last appraisal increase to dispute and found out they never saw the changes I made on removing a structure to bring the bill down because he never physically drove into my area only in the vicinity. Long story short it took me two trips and one was I had to leave work early to meet the appointment deadline. They were out appraising!

  • County Commissioner Kevin Janak, who has served on the appraisal district board three months, agreed the state study shows Victoria's appraisal numbers are accurate.

But that doesn't mean some values won't increase when the new appraisal notices are mailed in May. "We're still catching up on some that have never been hit."

What does this comment really mean? Some people have not been paying their fair share while others are paying through their noses? How can this really be accurate?

221 houses is NOT a fair sampling to base the accuracy on, hogwash!

  • The State DOES have a dog in this fight. All this rhetoric is based on the State rules. These values may be in alignment with the State rules, but it is the State rules we need to have changed this next legislative session!

    Are you listening, Geannie Morrison?
