Alejandro Sanz' soft, melodic sounds have captivated millions of fans all over the world since the 1990s.

The multi-award winning Grammy singer, who hails from Spain, pens all of his hits, and is known for his romantic ballads with orchestrations of jazz, R&B, pop, jazz and flamenco mixed together.

Sanz has raked in 15 Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards, and has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide.

His hits include "Corazon Partio," "Desde Cuando," "Amiga Mia," and "Quisiera Ser."

Sanz, who learned to play guitar as a child, was more of a nation-wide sensation in Spain throughout the 1990s, but then became even more internationally known with the help of Shakira.

In 2005, they collaborated for the hit, "La Tortura," on Shakira's album, "Fijacion Oral," and a year later, collaborated again on his album with the song, "Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No."

Most recently, he sang a bilingual hit with Alicia Keys, "Looking for Paradise," for his latest album, "Paraiso Express," released in November. The song went to No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Pop Charts.

Like with Shakira, I think Sanz and Keys make a good match, and complement each other well.

It's rare to hear Sanz sing some parts in English, which made the song, along with the breezy guitar riffs, so refreshing.

A trip down to the Valley to see him in concert would be worth it.
