Police investigate the cause of a two-vehicle wreck on Navarro Street near Red River Street on Wednesday afternoon.

One woman was injured in a Wednesday afternoon wreck on Navarro Street near Red River Street.

About 3:35 p.m., a gold Chevrolet Malibu and a gray Dodge Durango were both southbound on Navarro Street.

Crews were working on the traffic light at Red River Street, causing blinking lights and stop-and-go traffic.

As the Malibu, driven by 31-year-old Victoria resident, Martha Reyes, approached the traffic light she had to stop again.

Officer Travis Hanson said when Reyes stopped, the Durango's driver hit her car from the rear.

The Durango, driven by 27-year-old Stephanie Orta, had two children, one of which was in a car seat.

Reyes was taken by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center.

The extent of her injuries was unknown.

Everyone was wearing seatbelts.

Hanson said Orta was not ticketed, but she was found at fault for failure to control speed.
