Dawn Warzecha, left, Camdyn and Nikki Apodackis, center and Emma Leck, right, show off the quilts that will be auctioned off Sunday at the annual St. Michael's Catholic School spring festival Sunday in Cuero.

CUERO - The annual St. Michael's Catholic School spring festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday at the parish hall.

The event features a roast beef dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. and a live auction at 12:30 p.m. with auctioneer Joe Adams.

The festival also features a silent auction, bingo, plant and cake walks and a variety of activities for children.

A large basket comprised of seven gift themes from each grade will also be auctioned. The basket includes items that can be used on a fishing trip from the 3-year-old Pre-K students, beach items from the 4-year-olds, gifts for graduating high school seniors from the kindergartners, board games from the first grade, gardening items from second-graders, gift cards from the third and fourth grades and DVDs from the fifth and sixth grades.

Handmade quilts are once again popular auction items with a king-sized quilt made of neck ties by Dawn Warzecha and a baby quilt made by Emma Leck. In addition, a king-sized quilt made by the late Mary Arnold in 1999 has been donated to the auction in her memory.

Camdyn Apodackis, a Pre-K3 student and the fourth generation of the James Arnold family to attend St. Michael's School, is Mary Arnold's great-granddaughter.
