What did the daddy buffalo say when his son went off to college?

"Bison," said commencement speaker Melanie Ledwig, an associate professor of mathematics, at the Victoria College spring commencement Saturday. "Parents, family and friends, you sent them here a short time ago to get that degree and prepare for a successful future."

VC graduates spoke to the Advocate about what their next step into their future is.

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

"I start UHV June 1 and I'm going for a certification in fourth through eighth education. I want to teach junior high math."

"I hope to work at the hospital there in Port Lavaca and wherever else it takes me. My first love is hospice, so I may be able to go for that, too."

"Hopefully I'm going to transfer to UT and hopefully into the computer science department."

"I'm getting married next Saturday. (Graduation) is my main goal I wanted to accomplish. I'm looking for work for my future now."
