  • From the story: "The Houston area would be a more likely candidate for U.S. 59 to be developed into an interstate before Victoria because of the congestion."

    Is US 59 not already built to interstate standards from south of the Brazos River north to the area of the San Jacinto River? Seems to me that it is already a limited access four to six and eight lane highway through the Houston area and about all that would need to be changed are the signs.
