From the story: "The Houston area would be a more likely candidate for U.S. 59 to be developed into an interstate before Victoria because of the congestion."
Is US 59 not already built to interstate standards from south of the Brazos River north to the area of the San Jacinto River? Seems to me that it is already a limited access four to six and eight lane highway through the Houston area and about all that would need to be changed are the signs.
No super-highways until Rick Perry is out of office.
Why is it that the states to the north of us will not have anything to do with this new interstate and yet texas keeps pushing it?
We should be spending our time and money on securing the border and not on building a super highway for drug smugglers and illegal aliens.
