Homeowners association to discuss

Victoria City Council voted Tuesday to table closure of Railwood Drive in the Woodway subdivision.

Mayor Will Armstrong suggested having the Woodway Homeowners Association come up with a proposal.

"We would offer an engineer to consult," said Armstrong who lives in the subdivision.

The final vote however, will be left to council members.

The unanimous vote to table came after council members voted 7-0 on May 4 to close Railwood Drive between Nursery and Chimney Rock to keep traffic from cutting through the subdivision once the two new schools opened on U.S. 87 in August.

The council may reconsider the closure at its July 6 meeting, Armstrong said.
