The Presidio La Bahia is not only a historical site, but home to various ghost sightings. The Travel Channel series, "America's Most Terrifying Places," explored some of the history and sightings.

GOLIAD - Presidio La Bahia is a historical site and home to many ghost stories.

On Wednesday the Travel Channel arrived to explore and film some of those ghost stories and history.

"We've been researching this for at least three to four months," said Daniel A. Schwartz, executive producer for the Travel Channel.

Tales of people seeing a monk roam the grounds and muffled voices possibly from the time of the Goliad Massacre intrigued the Travel Channel.

The Presidio will be part of the series, "America's Most Terrifying Places," Schwartz said.

Approved by Newton Warzecha, director of the Presidio La Bahia, film crew was given access to the grounds, but prohibited from the chapel.

Schwartz said the crew looked for a location that had a terrifying, credible aspect and that not everybody knows about.

Warzecha, however, wanted to be assured that it would not give a bad image to the Presidio.

"My concern is that they make this place look bad," said Warzecha.

The episode is scheduled to air in the fall.
