Several decades ago I remember seeing the I- 69 signs as a summer employee for the then Texas Highway Department.... Traffic on highway 59 will increase not decrease, so it makes a lot of sense to modernize this well traveled highway at today's prices. Coming into Texas from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico; we should appreciate our highway system.

This highway has served us well but it is in a bad need for an upgrade. -
"I-69 will be a good idea when the border between the U.S. and Mexico is secured. Until then the project should be put on hold."
Yes because we all know illegal immigrants love a well paved Interstate - it's the reason they come here!

Hilarious! People don’t mind the influx of money because of commerce with Mexico; but do the Mexicans have to be involved? I mean, freaking hilarious!

The I-69 project would be a COLOSSAL waste of money. The actual economic benefit would never even come close to covering the monumental initial cost, not to mention the constant upkeep.
