Good story , I thought I was the only one that stays prepared for a hurricane.... I have a special corner in the house for three of those 4 gallon bottles of water, perishable food, flashlights etc. But I now scan all my receipts, warranties, and important papers, back them up on a flash drive. I also have a couple of laptops at the ready, along with a portable voltage converter to run them off my car battery....Anything more than a category three; we're ot of here...I'll deal with the damage when I return.
They're prepared for the apocalypse.
I need a generator. During Claudette my power was out for 4 days. My neighbors used their meat before it went bad by having a massive bbq (Why, yes, I do believe that hurricanes are a good excuse for a block party).
Very wise family. If we could get everybody on the same page as the Wallace Family things would run alot smoother during a disaster. In my household we are prepared as well. With the exception of food and water a generator was the best purchase we could have ever made and that was proven during Claudette. Just make sure you have the extra gas on hand in case you need to run it for days as we did.
Now THIS is a good story. And kudos to the Wallaces...prepared but reasonable.
