Car engulfed in flames, one injured

Cullar said the car was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 3:45 p.m. and took about 10 minutes to extinguish. The driver of the car, Frankie Williams, 76. of Victoria, was taken by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center with a broken shoulder suffered when she fell getting out of the car, her granddaughter Pamela Ray said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Ray said the car had recently undergone mechanical repairs.

A car at the corner of Crestwood Street and Sam Houston Drive was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene Tuesday afternoon. The fire took about 10 minutes to extinguish.
