Annual veterans ceremony Sunday in Praha

The 48th annual All-Veterans Day service will be Sunday in Praha, two miles east of Flatonia.

The event starts with a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption followed by a 10:30 assembly at the cemetery.

Official ceremonies begin at 11 a.m. with a flyover and flower drop by the Commemorative Air Force.

Guest speaker will be Don Daft, past state commander of the American Legion.

The ceremony includes laying of the wreaths, honoring of Gold Star mothers and a salute to the men and women of the Armed Forces.

Following the ceremonies, a fried chicken dinner will be served in the parish hall. Plates are $7.50 for adults, $4 for children.
