One man injured after shooting on Laurent Street

One man was injured following a shooting at the intersection of Laurent and Juan Linn streets on Wednesday.

At 11:30 a.m., a white Chevrolet Trailblazer and a blue four-door car both entered the center turn lane on Laurent Street.

Occupants of the vehicles then poured into the streets and began fighting, said Victoria Police officer Shane Wallace.

At some point, a passenger from the Trailblazer shot an occupant of the blue car.

Instead of waiting for an ambulance to come, the blue car left to take its injured occupant to Citizens Medical Center.

Wallace said the extent of the victim's injuries was unknown.

The Trailblazer left the scene, only to get caught by law enforcement on U.S. Highway 59 near Laurent Street a short time afterward.

"pouring into the streets" boy does the media like a good story. it was just 2 people fighting. the one who got hit is gonna be ok. thank god and they got the shooter in custody
