"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"

Harry Potter is a seemingly ordinary orphan who is stuck living with his cruel aunt and uncle, and their bully of a son. On the eve of his 11th birthday, Harry discovers he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Suddenly immersed in a brand, new magical world, Harry quickly finds out that he's famous in the wizarding world. As a baby, he was the only person to ever survive an attack by the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, the same man who killed his parents.

Harry quickly makes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and quickly makes enemies with Draco Malfoy and Professor Snape.

When the trio learn of the Sorcerer's Stone, which produces the Elixir of Life and could potentially bring Lord Voldemort back to life, they set out to reach the stone first, having to pass a series of magical challenges. The stone is then destroyed, so Voldemort can never have it.

"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"

During the summer holiday from Hogwarts, Harry is visited by Dobby, the house-elf who warns him not to return to school for his own safety. Against Dobby's advice, Harry does return and discovers that someone has opened the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts, unleashing a monster who is able to petrify students.

When Ron's sister, Ginny, is kidnapped and taken to the chamber, Harry finds the entrance to the chamber with the help of Ron and Moaning Myrtle. There he finds an unconscious Ginny and a young man by the name of Tom Riddle, who is stealing the life of Ginny to grow stronger. Riddle summons a basilisk, which Harry is able to defeat with the sword of Godric Gryffindor.

"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"

Harry learns he is in danger from a dangerous escaped prisoner by the name of Sirius Black, who is believed to be a Death Eater and loyal to Lord Voldemort. As it turns out, Sirius is actually Harry's godfather and was wrongly accused of his alleged crimes.

Together, Harry and Sirius, along with Ron and Hermione, discover that Ron's pet rat is actually Peter "Wormtail" Pettigrew, the real Death Eater and Sirius' name is cleared.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"

Although he is too young to compete, Harry is selected to represent Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament, along with another Hogwarts' student, Cedric Diggory. As part of the tournament, the selected school champions from Hogwarts and two other wizarding schools must complete a series of difficult challenges.

Meanwhile, the Death Eaters are growing their power, as is Voldemort. During the last challenge of the tournament, Harry comes face-to-face with Voldemort, and Cedric is killed by Wormtail. Harry and Voldemort duel, which Harry is able to escape.

"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"

With the Ministry of Magic refusing to believe that Voldemort is back, Harry, Ron and Hermione learn that The Order of the Phoenix, which fought Voldemort during the First Wizarding War, has reformed. Meanwhile, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Delores Umbridge, makes the students', and in particular, Harry's, life miserable. Eventually, Harry and Co. form Dumbledore's Army, to learn defensive techniques against the Death Eaters. While searching the Ministry's Department of Mysteries, Harry and the rest of Dumbledore's Army learn of a prophecy involving himself and Voldemort, but the gang is soon attacked by Death Eaters. The Order of the Phoenix steps in to save them, but not before Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"

After learning that Voldemort has split his soul into seven pieces, Harry and Dumbledore set out to find the objects, called Horcruxes, he has hidden those pieces in. Meanwhile, Snape enters into an Unbreakable Vow with Draco Malfoy's mother to carry out Draco's task of killing Dumbledore should Draco be unable to do it.

When Hogwarts is taken over by Death Eaters and they have Dumbledore surrounded, Draco finds he cannot kill Dumbledore and as a result, Snape is the one who casts the Avada Kedavra spell. After mourning Dumbledore's death, Harry tells Ron and Hermione he does not intend to return to Hogwarts next year, but instead plans to find the rest of the Horcruxes to finally put an end to Voldemort.
