One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 77 south of Victoria, according to a fire official.
Tracy Fox, with the Victoria Fire Department, said the incident involved two tractor-trailer rigs and a passenger car. It was reported about 5:30 a.m. in front of a convenience story in the 5000 block of U.S. 77.
Southbound traffic was block for about 30 minutes and the Texas Commission for Environment Quality was notified after about 100 gallons of diesel fuel leaked onto the ground.
Fox said a southbound truck and the passenger vehicle collided on U.S. 77 near Fleming Prairie Road. The truck continued on for about 200 yards, where it and a parked tractor-trailer rig collided. The parked truck was occupied by a man sleeping in the sleeping cab. The driver of the southbound truck was taken by ambulance to a Victoria hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Fox said.
Neither of the trucks was carrying hazardous materials, he said.
