Annual peanut, pecan sale under way

This Texas Pecan Cake is one of several recipes that can be made using the nuts sold by the Victoria County Extension Education Club. Sales run through Oct. 19.

NUT SALE BENEFACTORSThe annual Victoria Extension Education Association nut sale provides funds for scholarships and support of the following groups and other community organizations in need:

4-H Youth Program

Master Gardeners building project

Perpetual Help Home

Ag in the Classroom

Healthy Aging Conference

Healthy Start

Women's Crisis Center

Local nursing homes

Rural volunteer fire departments

Food Bank of the Golden Crescent

Adopt-a-Pet

Court Appointed Special Advocates

Christ's Kitchen

Victoria County Extension Education Club members are conducting their annual nut sale through Oct. 19.

The fancy shelled pecans and raw Spanish peanuts, fresh from Texas orchards, come in gift boxes and will arrive in time for holiday cooking.

Nuts may be ordered in five-pound lots. Pecans are $35 per box and peanuts are $10 for the five-pound box. Orders will arrive on Friday, Nov. 19, and may be picked up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Victoria Electric Co-op Auditorium, 102 S. Ben Jordan St.

Orders should be placed through Ruby Sellers, 112 Acorn Drive, Victoria, TX 77905 or call 361-575-3100 for ordering information.

The annual fundraiser benefits several local groups and organizations.
