10 years ago there were veteran officers with a good working knowledge of the community and the problems within. Exactly!! 10 years ago there WERE veteran officers here in Cuero. Where are they now and how come they didn't stay. Lets face Cuero P.D. is and will always a stepping stone place for new officers. The only officers that stay here are the ones that want to be here or call Cuero home. Yeah I'm sure if these guys could ever become fully staffed maybe they could be proactive, but I think these guys are running slim already with only 4 or 5 officers to cover patrol. Get real man 10 years ago officers were not dealing with the type of calls or call volume these guys deal with today, hell the laws aren't even the same as they were 10 years ago. The only thing I remember about Cuero P.D. 10 years ago is yes all the officers were old and Cuero was saturated with drugs with nothing being done about it. So yeah lets bring back all those old officers!
10 years ago Cuero PD was an aggressive pro active police dept. that was respected. To say the PD is a real established organization now is completely untrue. 10 years ago there were veteran officers with a good working knowledge of the community and the problems within. The PD now has a bunch of young inexperienced officers who are not only patrolling the streets but are supervisors. You can start all the programs you want but the main goal is to keep the streets safe. That my friends is done by old fashion proactive street patrol. Maybe we should call all them old cops back to fix the problem.
This man improved Cuero P.D. from the day he started in this city. He started new programs, has had many accomplishments while working for Cuero, and improved the dept. by 100% from what it was 10 years ago. He did the best he could with the personnel and budget he had. Many people have tried to place blame on him for this city's recent events, but lets place blame where it lay and that's on this community. For so long we as citizens of this city have taken for granted that Cuero is a crime free and non-violent city. Lets get real, Cuero isn't small town Cuero anymore, society has changed here and to be ignorant and blame the chief of police and his dept for the actions of individuals who clearly have a lack of respect for our community and citizens is STUPID! Seeing this resignation take place makes me ashamed of our local government, good job guys yall really made things right on this one.
Chris is a good guy , and a good cop. Cuero will surely miss him.X
what a shame.
