• Ha. The old advocate got one over on me with this one. I saw the headline about two officers filing a lawsuit and sprung for the 75 cents to get the paper out of the machine. Then, when I finally got to sit down and read, it turns out it's two officers from Refugio, not Victoria. Do people in Refugio really read the advocate? Do people in Refugio even know how to read ? But I digress......they got my 75 cents instead of me browsing the paper for free at the local stripes or bumming it off someone else.

  • Actually Refugio ISD is not a complete closed campus. Seniors have open campus, everyone else does not. There is more to the story than what is being reported here. "Misusing patrol cars" does even begin to cover it. While the city may not be blameless in all, neither are the officers.

  • they keep the school zone lights going at random times during the day. also, there's a pd car that only patrols the school zone when the lights are blinking. he uturns at the lights.

the place is just a speed trap / shake down. i dream for the day that txdots builds a by-pass and that city can just die off.

  • Corruption in Refugio law enforcement, I find that hard to believe. Also, if what I understand is true about the Refugio schools being closed campuses, then why the flashing school zone lights at noon.
