A woman was injured in a wreck at the intersection of Rio Grande and Bridge streets on Wednesday.

Amber Simon, 22, was driving west on Rio Grande Street in a maroon Chevrolet Malibu when she was struck on the driver's side by a vehicle traveling north on Bridge Street, said Officer Travis Hanson, with the Victoria Police Department. The intersection is controlled by a traffic light.

Tammy Matula, 41, who was driving a blue Dodge Ram 2500, was not injured.

Simon was treated and released at a Victoria hospital.

No citations were issued, Hanson said.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, airbags deployed and the 2-year-old was in a car seat, he added.
