I wonder if we could get Mr. Gregorcyk to run for mayor. He seems to care more about our city and its citizens than our current one.
I don't think an overpass over Salem and another over Mockingbird are gonna do much to keep students from getting killed. Students aren't walking there. You might want to spend the money on building a pedestrian bridge over John Stockbauer. THAT might keep students safer.
We need to do this before we get one of our students killed. Even if we need a local dedicated tax for these overpasses. This is a major hi-way.
Same thing nearly happened when Stroman High was built in the 60s. That high school and those people on that side of the tracks didn’t need sidewalks until that young Hispanic girl got run over and nearly killed on Ben Wilson. Then our leaders decided - maybe sidewalks might be a good idea at a school.
And what is so difficult about placing traffic signals at the bike and hike trail crossings?
