  • WHO REMAINSHilario Figirova, aka "Dirty Pennies"

    Jeffrey Soto, aka "Jeff"

One of three suspected gang members wanted from last week's round up was arrested Thursday afternoon.

Christopher Allen "Little Chris" Rivera, 25, of Victoria, and 15 other suspected members of the Hermanos Pistoleros Latinos were indicted on Oct. 15 in connection six killings or attempted killings dating back to 2001. He and two others were the only ones not arrested as of Monday when the charges were announced.

Two Victoria police officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Santa Fe Drive when they saw Rivera climb into the front passenger seat of a car, according to an arrest report.

The vehicle was then stopped in the 300 block of Stanly Street, when Rivera then ran about 75 yards and was pinned down and cuffed, according to the arrest report.

Rivera was arrested on warrants charging him with murder, assault causing serious bodily injury, manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.

  • Wow, talk about jumping to conclusions. Sounded like instead of praising the offenders, nicram21 was reminding everyone to abide by some pretty simple manners. If you don't know, then don't talk so harshly. If you do feel like saying something, make sure you are adding to the solution, not the problem. Like nicram21 said, get up and DO something to improve our town instead of just yapping about the problems.

  • I agree John123 and they are also not worthy of our money to house, feed, clothe, shelter and provide legal representation for. Send them to Afghanistan or the like, to hunt for explosives for our soldiers.

  • nicram21,

They are nothing but cowards and aren't worthy of anyone speaking to them face to face.

  • nicram21...You're right about not saying anything to their faces. Both out of a sense of self-preservation (I figure they'd kill anyone who said anything unpleasent to them) and a sense of charity (I figure they don't need another murder charge--mine!-- against them.

  • Well, Scorpio, to tell the truth, I don't much care what the police were responding to, either. I just wanted someone to fill in the blank.

  • ha.. believe half of what you read, less of what u hear and only trust the facts you know are for certain.. nobody but the victim god and the accuser's know what did and didn't happen so for all the comment's you scary people post on here that you most likely wouldnt say to anyone of these guys should be kept to yourself.. And if you all feel so strongly about the way your city has/is turning out then get out from ur computer and do something about it..

  • Who cares about what they were responding to Riverboat! Whats important is they got the guy and its one less dangerous person on the streets of Victoria. He ran because he knew he was wanted and that itself should be a crime. Charge him with another one. I believe anyone who is wanted by the law and knows it but refuses to turn themself in should be charged with another crime like evading arrest. I dont care how many crimes they committed they should be tried for all of them big or small.

  • Instead of running him down. they should have shot him. Save a lot of time and money.

  • "Two Victoria police officers responded to a home in the 900 block of . . . "

Responded to a home WHAT? Something's missing. Somehow I can't help thinking it must "domestic disturbance."
