The proposals for expansion is coming from the same crew that gave a hike and bike trail complete with "dodge 'em" features, had zero traffic allowances for two new high schools, and taxes higher than the truely "hot" areas of Texas such as Comal, Hays, and Denton Counties.
Who wants to buy a home by an airport? An industrial park, maybe, but not residential and surely not a state university that is not in need of expansion.
Deed the Victoria College property to UHV, eliminate the dual administration within the two entities, subsidize UHV with the current Victoria College tax collection (6% of my total tax bill this year) for a fixed time (5-10 years).
BTW, the proposed donated property is much more readily accessible from the existing roads at the airport. I propose that UHV accept the generous offer, hold the property until PRIVATE development opens up the area, then either relocate or sell the property for a handsome price. After all, this is about improved higher education, isn't it Victoria leaders?
Stop trying to ram this enormous fraud down the taxpayers throat!
