  • I want the good ole days of the prosperous economy the Repubs gave us and Obama ruined.
Really, who can turn an economy around better than the Repubs as they did after the budget deficits and collapsed economy Bill Clinton dumped on the Cheney Presidency?

Is this lady's picture the face of Victoria's Republican Party?

  • Victoria County never shifted party preference because the 2008 primary was about Hillary V Obama for democrats.... John McCain was the republican choice.

  • I agree with much of what DT is saying. I will also add that the timing of the "story", so close to Tuesday's election exhibits poor discretion by the VA. Yes, what the media reports (however meaningless to many) does impact voters. I think this "story" is ethically inappropriate this close to the election.

  • Sandwichh,

What make you believe that either party adheres to the U. S. Constitution in any way, shape or form nowadays, other than to pay lip service to it in their swearing in ceremony ?

  • I am a fan of Gabe's writing. However, on this story, I believe he did a poor writing and research job.

To state that Victoria shifted FROM the Dems to the Reps is ludicrous to anyone who lives here.

Secondly, to use the 2008 Presidential primary as the comparison to the 2010 non-Presidential primary is specious, at best. This year there was a strongly contested governor's race in the Republican primary as there was a strongly contested Democratic primary in 2008.

Compare gubernatorial to gubernatorial to get any reasonable comparison. Gabe can do much better than this.

  • Mr. Obama: No you couldn't!

  • Well, Bush and the Rep Congress went crazy on spending and stuff.
A vast progressive, left wing so called Dem assembly has been in control of Congress now for almost 4 years, now the same type of President has now been in for almost 2 years and has spent almost 7 times more than the previous Repub set up.
People have remembered that Congress has control of spending and taxes, and we are LEGALLY ruled by a very defined FEDERAL rule of law, ie The US Constitution. So things swing.
People just need to understand that the old Democrats and the old Republicans are not of the same ideas as these newer ones.
Them being a Progressive or Liberal or Conservative really needs to be looked at more nowadays rather than the D or R or I.
