50th anniversary
Richard (Dick) and Patricia Thompson of Victoria celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently with a surprise, catered dinner and walk down memory lane celebration for family and friends at the Victoria Women's Clubhouse. Richard's brother, Albert Thompson, of East McKeesport, Pa., was a special guest attending the celebration. The event was hosted by the couple's daughters, Mrs. Donna Beck with husband Mr. Thomas Beck, Ms. Deborah Skoruppa, Ms. Patti Atwell, all of Victoria. Following the celebration, the couple will travel to Las Vegas, Nev.
Patricia Marshall and Richard Thompson were married Sept. 3, 1960, at Holy Trinity Church in Hialeah, Fla.
Grandchildren of the couple are Michelle Beck Duval, Tiffany Beck Kramer, Thomas Beck II, Stephanie Skoruppa, Breanna Atwell and Brooke Feulner.
Great-grandchildren of the couple are Grant and Gunner Garnett, Kolton and Kaitlyn Duval, Taylor, Madyson and Lainey Kramer.
Richard was born in Pittsburg, Pa., and raised in Wilmerding, Pa. After graduating, he moved to Florida and met his bride in Miami Springs. He worked for VMW and Skytop prior to starting his own company, AAA Pneumatics & Supply in 1980 and is a current board member for Northcrest Pool.
Patricia was born and raised in Boston, Mass., and moved to Miami, Fla., as a teenager. She has worked for U.S. Census Bureau since 1993 as a field representative.
The couple moved from Florida to Victoria in 1973 and has lived in Northcrest since then. When their children were younger, the family was active in the Kelly Crick 4-H Club and Victoria Girls' Fast Pitch Softball league. They have also enjoyed many trips to Disney World and Discovery Cove in Orlando, Fla., with the entire family. Over the years, the couple has traveled to the Bahamas, Las Vegas, Nev., Galveston, Tx., New Orleans, La., California, South Florida, Ixtapa, Mexico, and the Hawaiian Islands. The couple enjoys spending time and traveling with their extended family, high stakes poker, swimming and the company of their Shih Tzu, Chin Chin. They are members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria.
